Coronavirus Updates: Fourteen Italian Tourists moved to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram after being tested positive

New Delhi: The fourteen Italian Tourists have been shifted to the Medanta Hospital in Gurugram from an ITBP quarantine centre, after they tested positive for coronavirus. According to the statement issued by the hospital, “These patients are housed on a completely separate floor, which has been quarantined and has no contact with the rest of the Hospital”.  The hospital also clarified that the isolated floor will completely contain the disease, even with these asymptomatic persons. All other hospital operations are operating as normal, and there is no increased risk to patients, visitors or staff.

India has been on high alert, ever since the first cast of coronavirus was confirmed in the country. As per the government, India is responding to the novel coronavirus in full force. Every person who shows symptoms of the virus is asked to either remain in isolation or immediately call health professionals.

Fourteen Italians and an Indian (Driver), who were in the same group as the affected Italian couple (who are being treated at Jaipur’s SMS medical college), tested positive for the virus, according to the information provided by the Health Ministry.

Since February 27th, the Centre already has 112 people, including 76 Indian and 36 foreigners after their evacuation by an Indian Air Force (IAF) plane from Wuhan in China, the base of the deadly coronavirus. However, the first samples of these 112 people came to be negative in the reports that came in last week.
